That’s where I come in.

My name is Matty Lansdown and I’m a scientist & nutritionist with over 10 years of experience and a background working in the health system. Firstly, in a nutritional epigenetics lab servicing elite athletes and also working as part of a disease research team within hospitals.

Just a few years into my cancer hospital job, surrounded by amazing professors, doctors, PhD’s nurses and fellow scientists I began to feel like an imposter. I was asking questions that no one else seemed to be asking, about the cause of disease and the impact of food on the body… It was so strange to me that quite obviously the large majority of patients were overweight or obese and no one talked about their diet or their lifestyle. Ever.

Despite that, I was 100% certain of what I had realised years before: that being overweight or obese was the number 1 predictor of getting any of the chronic diseases (..and often it ends up being several).

Working in this environment and asking unconventional questions led me down the research rabbit hole of mainstream medical history (hint, it’s terrifying) but it also allowed many epiphanies and truths about health and wellness to flow into my mind and be realised.

And so feeling misaligned with this behemoth entity that runs the world, I left my corporate science career because I saw the grand canyon sized hole in the world of health, nutrition and weight loss:

Being overweight is not about food, calories or kale, it’s about peeling the emotional onion and growing into a totally new version of yourself.

The thing is, I’ve never met someone that didn’t know that meat and veggies were a good idea, which is why I help people get control of themselves around food without feeling restricted or deprived in order to make being a healthy confident person & eating well something people actually prefer doing – it’s about evolving as a person, not starving yourself thin.

To share these gold nuggets that I had uncovered and begin teaching people how to do it, I became an international speaker, at retreats, wellness events and guested on over 100 podcast shows teaching women and mothers how to lose weight and build their self confidence without feeling overwhelmed or driven by sugar cravings.

200+ clients later and I’ve designed a system that helps women to achieve their weight loss, gut health, energy and health goals in a way that they can keep doing themselves once they’re done, without feeling like they’re missing out or and knowing for the first time, the weight isn’t coming back.

Oh and almost 4 years ago I started the ‘How to Not Get Sick And Die’ podcast which has become one of the top rated health Podcasts in Australia. I recently hit 120,000 listeners and that has put the show in the top 2% of podcasts worldwide (this is obviously next level awesome).

I operate on the belief that any deprivation and restriction approach is always going to fail you, at some point, and if it doesn’t lead to you falling off the bandwagon, it’s likely that you have created an obsessive, fear based relationship with your food, which can’t feel good at all for you or the kidlets that are looking up to you for how to be healthy!

Instead, what we do is spend the first few weeks working on the emotions that surround your food and your eating patterns – we do this to figure out where the deep work needs to be done so that your weight loss actually lasts.

From there we install new beliefs, a new mindset and a new pattern that allows you to step into the New You that feels confident with who you are and let’s you fall in love with your sexy self again.

Next is your food. I believe that if we move towards having an eating routine and meal plan that reflects how our ancestors evolved to eat for literally thousands of years, the diet that built the humans species (before we came along and ruined everything with technology in the 1900s) then the body will begin finding a natural balance; a state of health that is intuitive to each and every individual.

And why do I, a man with no kids, work with women and mother’s?

Because I have a mission to create a world where everyone is someone’s healthy friend… and that starts with getting Mum’s health on track first.

I firmly believe that the way to achieve my goal is to work with the beautiful mother’s of the world, because mother’s install beliefs and behaviours in not only themselves, but that of their children, the little humans that will be the future of this planet and so if you as a mother can embody the health that you deserve and be the role model then your children will grow up to inherit not just your genetics but the more important piece of health, your attitude, respect and love for yourself.

Put literally, children learn how to keep themselves healthy by watching how you keep yourself healthy.

And no matter your age, it is never too late to show your kids that you can turn your health around and transform your life.

So on this journey I’m working with phenomenal groups of courageous mothers supporting them to lose weight, be in control of their emotional eating, and to feel sexy & amazing in their favourite clothes again.

When I’m not sitting at the desk or podcasting I have a long list of things that I love to do. I love getting into nature – I do a barefoot walk every morning with my toes in the wet grass. I love spending time with friends IRL trying new activities, doing brunch and getting deep on all sorts of topics. Getting my skydiving license is on my bucket list too! I loveeee skydiving!

Oh I also love relaxing my face off! I love massages, float tanks, infrared saunas and getting away to a cabin in the countryside.
